It is Unicode: letters from math, small-caps and other symbol blocks that look styled but are still plain text, so they can be pasted anywhere.

A few things I learned while building a generator for this:

Some styles use characters that count as two, so a name that looks short can still go over the limit. Count before you paste.

Not every symbol shows up on every device. Simple styles like bold, italic and small caps are the safest.

Roblox filters some text, so it helps to check a name before you commit to it.

I put all of this into a free tool: Adopt Me Fonts. You type once and get 180+ Unicode styles you can copy, with a 20-character pet name counter, favorites, a trade tag generator for FT/NFT/LF posts, and a simple Roblox text checker. No sign-up needed.

If you trade a lot, the trade tag generator saves time when you write the same offer over and over.

The hard part is turning that into a short list of real words.

Here is the routine I use:

Lock the greens first. A green letter fixes one position, which cuts the candidate list more than anything else.

Treat yellows as two rules at once: the letter must appear somewhere, and it cannot be in the spot where it was yellow.

Remove every gray letter, but watch out for repeats. If a letter was green once and gray once in the same guess, the word has exactly one of it.

Prefer common words. Wordle answers are everyday words, so obscure dictionary entries are rarely worth a guess.

Doing this by hand works, but it is slow. I built a free tool for it: Wordle Finder lets you enter green, yellow and gray letters, set how many times a letter must appear, and instantly see the matching 5-letter words, with common words listed first. It uses an 11,267-word dictionary and needs no sign-up.

If you just want to browse, it also has word lists by starting and ending letter, which are handy for picking a strong opening guess.
